a new year starts at the uni
Last week and the week before we held Freshers and International Welcome at the Uni, lasting ten days. It was apparent that I should do my own publicity so I made leaflets and posters and distributed them around the campus and in some of the halls of residence. I wore my robe and, when I wasn't walking about meeting people, I sat on a stone bench, chanting. The place was buzzing and the weather was beautiful, with a carnival atmosphere. It was, as ever, tiring, but fun. This week my groups have started - both 'Meditation For Relaxation' and 'Introduction to Buddhism' were well attended, with most of the students and staff newcomers. I'm holding the latter course in the evening in one of the halls of residence and have a larger and warmer room than I used last year. I'm sure we'll be grateful for that as the weather cools. I've set up a yahoo group and a new weblog for the students.
