Thought for the Day is an institution among UK's middle classes (those who aren't meditating). Broadcast at 7:50 am on BBC Radio 4's flagship news programme, it is a 2mins 45sec slot, sandwiched between political interviews and news bulletins, in which religious speakers comment on the news of the day.
The speakers are usually bishops or rabbis plus a smattering of from other faiths, but until now there has been no Buddhist. Step forward FWBO's Vishvapani - who will be broadcasting on the TFTD slot on Weds 19 and 26 July and 2 August.
