You know, if I wasn't a Buddhist.......
A miracle! The Flying Spaghetti Monster has caused his Noodly Visage to appear in a holiday pumpkin pie.
The Daily Manifesto’s Duke Ferris reports the great event was manifest Thanksgiving evening in a dessert prepared by his wife, Miranda.
The Flying Spaghetti Monster is the deity of the Pastafarian sect known, appropriately enough, as the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It was first announced to the world in 2005 after Kansas Board of Education voted to teach intelligent design alongside evolution in state classrooms.
Adherents believe that it was the Flying Spaghetti Monster who created the universe.

STRESS
I
am not sure exactly how it works, but this is amazingly accurate. Read the full
description before looking at the picture.
The
picture below has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case study on
stress levels
at
St. *****'s Hospital.
Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical. A closely monitored, scientific study revealed that , in spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical , a person under stress would find differences in the two dolphins.
The more differences a person finds between the dolphins, the more stress that
person is experiencing.
Look
at the photograph and if you find more than one or two differences you may want
to take a vacation.

A little bit of Halloween silliness - try this game
Taken on my Sony Cybershot 7.2 (so not great quality) when we were at Hove a week past Monday. Freja and Ella, my son Simon's girls, Izzy and Lucy, my daughter Rachel's girls.....and Rachel herself. Lots of screaming required, as you'll hear!
Isn't this wonderful?
What or who is your favorite product mascot? Why?
I used to like the Smash Martians:
They used to roll around laughing at the ridiculousness of human beings and I found their laughter infectious ::linkThe Smash Martians were the stars of a 1974 TV advertising campaign for Smash instant mashed potato in the UK. They were a family of Martian robots who would watch humans laboriously preparing mashed potato the traditional way on TV. The robots would then mock what they saw by chortling as they heard how the "Earth people peeled their own potatoes, boiled them for 20 of their minutes, then smashed them all to bits" - instead of using Smash instant mash. The catchphrase 'For Mash Get Smash' is still an iconic and memorable advertising image within the UK. The 1970s adverts were voted TV ad of the century by Campaign Magazine ::link
Perhaps we should try more often to see ourselves from an outside perspective - there's plenty that we do, individually and collectively, that's ridiculous. We could do with more humour and less seriousness, less 'rightness', less entitlement.
The product was disgusting, by the way, and I only used it to thicken soups - the crazy Earthling way with mashed potatoes tastes infinitely better.
Play any instrument or speak any language, which do you choose?
Question submitted by cruftbox.vox.com.
I guess it's too late for me to be another Eric Clapton, Pat Metheny or Jan Garbarek, but I would really like to learn to play something - and I'm thinking of mandolin.
I'd rather do that than learn Japanese, though I'd like to be able to do that, too. I have some French, Spanish, a smattering of German and even less Italian - and less than would be useful Greek - considering we go there every summer for holiday - and we could have done with words other than food and drink when Peter had his accident there a few weeks ago.
But the mandolin is probably more likely to happen than the Japanese. Not the useful choice but could be more fun. Last week I went to look at some in a Newcastle music shop and I've found instruments, books and DVDs at another local shop - and also lessons that start at The Sage in September. I may well be twice or three times as old as anyone else there. Shall I take the plunge? My sister Kathy is learning guitar - we could be a girl group - what should our middle sister Janet learn to play?
As far as music goes, I've always been audience. My first husband was bass player with Fleetwood Mac in their early days, and still plays. Maybe it's time for me to learn to perform - to the cats, as long as they don't yowl.
